Apple’s new iOS 12, released in September, will be supported on devices reaching back as far as 2013.
This means users with the iPhone 5S and newer will be able to upgrade their iOS to a much snappier and secure format. No other phone manufacturer has continually supported their devices this far back.
This is encouraging from Apple especially after the headache they caused for users on older devices with the battery throttling scandal last year.
By the way, iPatch and Apple will replace affected device’s batteries for £25. If your iPhone is suffering a drop in performance or randomly shuts down then you may well be in need of a new battery.
